Veteran’s Day Programs in Maple Lake

Sergeant E5 Bruce Peters stands by the Victory Vision motorcycle he turned into a tribute to his fellow soldiers who didn’t come back from the Vietnam War or came back physically or mentally damaged. On the bike are hand-painted representations of the Three Soldiers Memorial and the Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. as well as scripture quotes, patriotic documents and more. He hopes to ride the motorcycle to the Friday, Nov. 10, Maple Lake Veteran’s Day Program at the high school auditorium where he and his wife, Claris, will speak on what it was like to live through the Vietnam War. this painting is a depiction of Bruce Peters standing at the wall with his hand on the names of buddies he lost during the Vietnam War. A closer look shows the ghostly impression of those lost soldiers reaching out toward him. Peters’ reflection can also be seen on the glossy surface of the well-waxed motorcycle.
