She died Friday, March 29, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital with her family at her side. The Rev. Steven Hoffman of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater officiated the service. Inurnment will be at a later date. Yvette was born on July 20, 1940, in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Octave and Annette (Frechette) Laurin. She attended school at St. Boniface until, as a teenager, she moved with her parents to North Minneapolis in 1955. She attended North High School and graduated in 1958. She was united in marriage to Stephen Potter on Nov. 12, 1958. They then made their home in Buffalo, where their three children were born. She always considered her three children to be her biggest accomplishment. As a young woman, she worked in downtown Minneapolis. She also owned and operated a custom drapery shop in Buffalo for several years. The family lived in Port Charlotte, Fla. for a few years before settling back in Wright County. Her final and favorite occupation was being an important part of T.J. Potter Trucking from its inception in 1984, working in administration until retiring. Better known as Mémère (French for Grandmother), she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. An avid craft person and seamstress, she, in recent years, found a great passion for knitting. Many friends and all of her family proudly wear the product of her love and talent. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen (Styke) on Dec. 1, 1991; sister, Irene; and two brothers, Fern and Denis. She is survived by her children: Stephen (Melissa) Potter and Todd (Barb) Potter, both of Clearwater, Kelly (Steven) Bruggeman, of Annandale; nine grandchildren: Kyle, Ashley, Derek (Jenna), Brian, Shane, Michael, Cole, Kaleen, and Dawson; her mother, Annette Laurin; and one sister, Leonne (Jerry) Thole, both of Florida; other relatives; and many friends.
